About Map2Model
A free 3D printable map maker that turns any place on Earth into a model you can print at home.
Map2Model is a browser tool for turning any map into a 3D printable model. Pick a city, a coastline or a mountain range, draw an area on the map, and Map2Model builds a print-ready 3D model of the buildings and terrain inside it — then exports a multicolor 3MF (or a merged STL) you can drop straight into your slicer.
It was built to make the whole map-to-3D-model workflow effortless: no CAD, no plugins, no manual mesh repair. You go from a place name to a watertight, ready-to-slice file in a few clicks.
What makes it different
- Free, no signup. No account, no paywall and no watermark — generate and download as many models as you like.
- Runs entirely in your browser. Map2Model is 100% client-side. The map area you choose and the model you generate never leave your machine — nothing is uploaded to a server.
- Cities and mountains. The same tool makes a 3D printable city model from OpenStreetMap buildings and a 3D printable terrain model from real elevation data, so a topographic map 3D print is just an area selection away.
- Multicolor 3MF and STL. Export a multicolor 3MF where terrain, buildings, water, roads, greenery and the frame each keep their own color, or a single merged STL when you want one solid body.
- Print-ready geometry. Models come out watertight and oriented for the bed, so they slice cleanly in Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer or Cura without extra repair steps.
